Description

Two covers in a soft solid red plush, each sized for an 18 by 18 in insert. The design is a Christmas tree worked as raised hand embroidery rather than printed, so it stands proud of the surface and catches the light from the side. The texture is the point: a printed tree on flat cotton reads as a graphic, a stitched tree in plush reads as something made.

They are 100 percent polyester with a short pile, which keeps them washable and stops the pile flattening under a week of use. The design is on the front only; the back is plain red plush. An invisible zipper in a colour-matched tape runs along one edge, so the closure disappears into the seam and the pile hides the pull.

Sizing, and why they feel tight

The supplier cuts these approximately 0.6 in smaller than the stated insert size on purpose. That is standard practice for a good-looking cushion: an 18 in cover on an 18 in insert stays plump at the corners instead of sagging in the middle. It also means the cover feels tight going on the first time. Push the insert corners in before closing the zipper and it will settle.

Inserts are not included. Two 18 by 18 in forms will finish the pair.

Practical notes

Plush shows crushing where someone has leaned on it, and it lifts again with a shake or a quick brush. Wash cool on a gentle cycle, line dry, and do not iron the embroidered face. If you use these on an outdoor bench for a party, bring them in overnight; the plush holds damp.

CJ publishes a pack weight of 400 g, which is 0.88 lb for the pair, in a 300 by 300 by 300 mm carton. That is about 200 g per cover, which is reasonable for a short-pile polyester at this size.

Orders placed by Monday December 7 are expected to arrive before Christmas, allowing 1 to 3 business days of handling and 5 to 9 business days in transit.
