2 Piece Lighted Christmas Tree Urn Fillers with Berries and Ornaments

Description

Two small flocked Christmas trees, pre decorated and pre lit, mounted on four prong ground stakes. They are sold as urn fillers, which describes one use: dropped into a pair of planters or urns flanking a front door. The stakes mean they work equally well pushed straight into a border, a window box or a pot of soil.

Size

Each piece is 27.6 in tall overall. The tree itself accounts for 22 in of that and the stake for the remaining 5.1 in, and the foliage spreads about 13.8 in across at the widest point. In a tall urn the stake disappears into the soil and you see roughly 22 in of tree above the rim, so measure your planter before assuming the proportions will work.

How they are decorated

The branches are flocked white over green, with clusters of red berries and baubles in gold, red, green, blue, silver and pink worked through them. Warm white LEDs are set among the branches rather than strung on the outside. It is a finished ornament rather than a base you decorate yourself.

Battery or solar

There are two versions and you choose at checkout. The battery version runs from a sealed green control box with a six hour timer, so it comes on at the same time each evening once you set it, and it is completely independent of the weather. The solar version has no batteries to replace, but like any solar decoration in December it depends on what its panel collects during nine or ten hours of low, often overcast winter daylight, and it will run shorter on grey weeks and shorter again in hard frost.

If the trees are going somewhere shaded, under a porch roof or against a north wall, choose battery. If they are in open sun and you would rather not be swapping cells in the cold, choose solar.

Modes and weather

Eight lighting modes are available: combination, in wave, sequential, slow glow, chasing and flash, slow fade, twinkle and flash, and steady on. The supplier gives an IP44 weather rating, which covers rain and snow but not standing water.

One inconsistency worth flagging

The supplier’s wiring diagram shows a lead with five connector drops while the packing list for this item states two trees. We have described what the packing list says you receive. If you are planning a specific layout around the lead length, ask us to confirm with the supplier first rather than relying on that diagram.
