LED Icicle Curtain Lights, 33 ft Multicolor with Link-Through Plug

Description

Built to be joined, which is the whole design

Each set spans roughly 33 feet and carries 400 multicolor LEDs on drops of about 16 inches. The important part is the end-to-end plug: sets connect to each other and run from one outlet, so a long eave, a balcony rail or a garden wall gets covered in one continuous line instead of three separate runs with three separate cables trailing back to the house. If you have ever tried to hide two extension leads along a front elevation, that is the problem this solves.

Icicle drops read differently from a straight string

A straight string outlines an edge. An icicle curtain fills the space below it, which is what makes a plain gutter line or a flat fence panel look considered rather than merely lit. The 16 inch drops are long enough to be clearly deliberate and short enough not to catch on a door or a passing shoulder, which longer curtains reliably do.

Low voltage and IP44

The set runs from a transformer under 30 volts, so what hangs within reach is low voltage. The rating is IP44: rain and splashing are fine, immersion is not. The supplier is clear that the string should not be put in water. Mount the transformer somewhere sheltered and the rest of it will handle a normal winter.

Indoor uses that are worth knowing

Because the drops are short and the voltage is low, these work well indoors too: behind a sheer curtain on a large window, across the back of a bar or a buffet table, or down a stairwell wall. Behind a voile in particular the individual points blur into a wash, which is a better effect than the bare string gives you and costs nothing extra.
