Merry Christmas Door Cover Banner, 70.9 x 35.4 in, Red and Gold Tree

Description

This is one large printed panel sized to cover a door rather than hang beside it. It measures 180 by 90 centimetres, which is 70.9 by 35.4 inches, so it fits a standard 36 inch door with the width used up and a little length to spare on most frames. The design is a deep red ground with a gold Christmas tree rendered as a spiral of light, hanging baubles and beads across the top, and Merry Christmas in gold lettering.

Hanging it

There is a metal grommet at each of the four corners and a roll of thin rope in the package. Thread the rope through the corners and tie it off to whatever you have: a wreath hook, a door frame, a couple of adhesive hooks above the architrave. For a patio or an exposed porch, the supplier suggests weighting the bottom corners, and that is sound advice, because a panel this size catches wind like a sail.

Material and reuse

It is a printed polyester fabric rather than vinyl or paper. It does not tear easily, it is washable, and it folds down to almost nothing for storage, which is the real argument for a door cover over a wreath: a much bigger visual effect for a fraction of the storage space. Expect creases from the fold when it arrives. Hanging it for a day usually settles them, and a cool iron on the reverse will finish the job if you are in a hurry.

Indoors and out

It works on an interior door, a wardrobe, a classroom door or a photo backdrop as readily as a front door. Outdoors it will be fine under cover. Direct, prolonged sun will fade any printed fabric eventually, though a six week Christmas run is not long enough to matter.

A note on the supplier data

Our supplier publishes a carton size for this item that is physically impossible for a 200 gram fabric panel, so we have left the package dimensions off the listing rather than repeat a number we know to be wrong. The product size above comes from the supplier’s own printed size artwork and we are confident in it.
