8 ft Hanging Inflatable Climbing Santas with LED Lights, 3 Figures

Description

A vertical eight foot strip carrying three climbing Santas and three Merry Christmas boards, made to hang rather than to stand. It solves a problem the rest of this category does not: if you have no lawn, or a lawn you do not want to stake, this mounts to a wall, a window, a balcony rail or a fence and takes up no ground at all.

Inflated it is 108 x 35 x 240 cm, which the supplier gives as 3.5 x 1 x 8 ft. Each Santa is about 62 x 30 x 94 cm and each Merry Christmas board about 53 x 41 x 28 cm. The fabric is 210T waterproof polyester in red and green, and the lighting is six sets of LED beads, twelve in total, in cold white.

Power and placement

The built-in blower runs on a US plug at 100 to 120V, 50/60Hz, and the built-in power cord is 2 m (6.56 ft). That cord length is the number that matters here, because a hanging display usually ends up further from an outlet than a lawn piece does. Measure from your mounting point to the nearest outlet before you buy, and plan on an outdoor rated extension cord on a GFCI outlet for anything past six feet. The blower has to stay powered the whole time it is up.

Mounting

Four suction cups and six ropes of roughly 2 m each are supplied. The suction cups are for glass and other smooth surfaces; the ropes are for tying off to a rail, a bracket or a hook on brick or siding. Use both where you can. A hanging piece swings in wind in a way a staked piece does not, so tie the bottom off as well as the top, and bring it in when the weather turns.

The supplier rates it “life waterproof”, which means it handles rain and snow in normal use rather than being sealed. It weighs 700 g deflated and ships at 918 g. A user manual is included.
