Motorcycle Racer Figurine with Detachable Alloy Helmet, 4.72 in

Description

This is a stylised racer figure: a short, heavy set body in a blue and orange race suit with an oversized helmet that comes off. The helmet is the part that justifies the price. It is die cast alloy rather than moulded plastic, with a tinted visor that raises and lowers, and it has the weight in the hand that a metal helmet should have. The body and limbs are ABS.

Size

The supplier’s size drawing gives 12 centimetres tall, which is 4.72 inches, by 5 centimetres wide (1.97 inches) and 4.5 centimetres deep (1.77 inches). That is a desk piece rather than a display figure, and the helmet accounts for close to half the height, which is the whole look.

Articulation

The figure is jointed at the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees and ankles, so it can be stood upright, sat down, or posed leaning forward over a tank. That last pose is the one every supplier photograph uses and it is the one that looks best on a shelf.

The motorcycle is not included

This needs saying clearly, because the supplier’s own photographs make it easy to miss. Several of its images show the figure leaning on a detailed motorcycle. The supplier’s own caption on those images reads that the motorcycle was a prop for the shoot. You are buying the rider and the helmet, and nothing else. We have deliberately kept those motorcycle images off this listing rather than show you something that does not come in the box.

Livery

The suit and helmet carry generic racing graphics: the words RACE and DRIFT, a number six roundel, and a stylised sponsor block. There is no real team, rider or manufacturer branding on it, which is worth knowing if you were hoping for a specific livery.

Colour

Our supplier lists this in red and blue. Only the blue suit is in stock from the US warehouse at the moment, so blue is what this listing sells and blue is what the photographs show. If you specifically want the red one, tell us and we will check whether it has come back.
