Five feet across, lit two ways

This is the largest wreath we stock. It is a building scale piece rather than a door piece, intended for a gable, a barn end, a gateway, a wide porch wall or a commercial frontage. Before ordering, hold a tape measure up on the wall you have in mind. Sixty inches is considerably larger than it looks in a photograph, and it is the most common reason a wreath this size gets sent back.

Density

Six hundred PVC branch tips is the number that matters most at this diameter. Large artificial wreaths that skimp on tip count look like a wire hoop with foliage glued round the edge. This one carries enough material to read as solid from the road and to hold the fir shape it is modelled on.

Two hundred and twenty lights in two colours

The wreath carries both cool white and warm white LEDs. Warm white on its own reads traditional and soft. Cool white on its own reads crisp and modern and shows up better against pale render or under snow. Having both means you can change the character of the display without changing the wreath, and running them together gives a slight sparkle that neither produces alone.

Ornaments

A set of ornaments is supplied loose rather than fixed, so you decide the arrangement. That is deliberate. On a five foot wreath, factory placed decoration tends to look repetitive, and being able to cluster ornaments in the lower third or spread them evenly makes a real difference to how the wreath sits on a particular wall.

Weight and fixing

It weighs a little over fourteen pounds packed. Hang it from a fixing that goes into timber or masonry, not from a door hanger or a picture hook, and check that fixing again after the first heavy rain, when the wreath will be at its heaviest.

Assembly

Allow fifteen minutes to open the branches out from the centre ring outward. It ships compressed, and this step is what turns it from flat to full. Take it down in January rather than leaving it up year round, and let it dry before it goes back in the box.
