Snow Flocked Christmas Tree, 4 ft Unlit with Foldable Base

Description

A four foot flocked tree for a room that cannot take a full one

Not every space has a corner to give up. This is a 4 foot snow flocked tree with 233 PVC branch tips, built for apartments, offices, bedrooms, landings and second trees. It reads as a proper tree rather than a tabletop ornament, but it takes up about as much floor as a side table.

Flocking, and what it actually does

The flocking is a white coating applied over green needles, so the tree looks snow dusted rather than painted white. Two practical consequences follow. First, it photographs beautifully against a dark wall and disappears against a white one, so think about the backdrop before you pick the spot. Second, flocking sheds a little, particularly the first time you shape the branches. Unbox it somewhere you can sweep, shape it fully in one go, and it settles down after that.

Unlit on purpose

There are no lights built in. That is a genuine advantage on a small tree: pre-lit strings are the first thing to fail on a cheap tree, and when a section dies you are left with a dark patch you cannot fix. With an unlit tree you wrap your own string, replace it when it fails, and change warm white for colour whenever you want. A 4 foot tree takes roughly one hundred lights for an even look, fewer if you want a sparse, modern effect.

Foldable base

The base folds flat rather than unbolting into loose legs and washers that go missing in the loft. Combined with the height, that makes this one of the easier trees to store: it goes back into a single manageable package instead of taking over a shelf.
