This is built as a single unit: a lit star at the apex with strands falling away from it, 350 multicolor LEDs across 11.48 feet of drops. You place the star, let the strands fall, and the tree is finished. There is no wrapping and no working out where to hide a join, which is most of the labour in lighting a tree.

Where it works and where it does not

The waterfall shape suits anything with a clear apex: a conifer in the garden, a tall potted shrub, a garden arch, or a corner of a porch roof. It also works over a gazebo frame, which is a less obvious use and a good one. What it does not do is light a broad, flat or irregular shape, because the strands fall vertically from one point and will simply hang past anything that is wider than it is tall.

Eight modes, and the memory matters more

There are eight lighting modes, which on a cascade actually earn their keep: the sequential and slow fade patterns make the strands read as falling, which is the whole point of the shape. Steady on is the quiet option. The memory function holds your choice through a power cut or an outdoor timer, so you set it once in late November and leave it.

Outdoor rated, with the usual caveat

The supplier rates this for indoor or outdoor use and describes the strands as waterproof. As with every mains-powered light in this category, treat the plug and controller as the weak point and keep them under an eave or inside a weatherproof box. That single precaution is what separates a display that lasts five seasons from one that lasts one.
